One of the features of Activy is the ability to compare yourself with other users. Most of the people using our application are amateurs practicing sports purely as a hobby. However, there are ambitious athletes who present the so-called "semi-professional" level with their sports level. Seeing the activities of such athletes, we can feel deceived and conclude that such a person was driving a car or other means of transport.
For the vast majority of people for whom sport is just an addition and a distraction from everyday duties, such results as, for example, 10 km in 35 minutes on a run or 300 km on a bike seem unrealistic. However, we must remember that there are users who:
- are running or triathlon coaches who represent a high sports level
- they have been training 6-7 times a week since childhood and have a much better basis for achieving great results
- are people with a predisposition to endurance sports
- amateurs training for ultra distances who regularly cover long distances, whether by running or cycling.
For the above-mentioned athletes, running 15-20 km every day, cycling 200 km at the weekend, mountain competitions at distances of 50-100 km are on the agenda.
Of course, such activities are detected by the application's algorithm and thoroughly verified by the Activy team. Advanced runners or triathletes mostly use sports watches and have accounts on other applications for recording activities. In addition to analyzing the speed chart and map, we can check such activities in other applications, e.g. Strava, Garmin Connect or Polar Flow. We can find there comments of runners and cyclists in a fairly easy way to find out if a given activity was done honestly.
So have no fear! π Maybe one of your friends from work is really an athlete, hence such impressive results. Otherwise, we do everything to ensure that no fraudster goes unpunished. Of course, you can report a suspicious person for verification. But before you do that, take a look at her other activities. If he moves every day, he may belong to one of the groups described above. Maybe she went to the mountains for the weekend, did an all-day bike trip, or took part in a marathon or ultra run. You have to remember that avid runners and triathletes are a bit "abnormal"? and they like crazy challenges. βI will not run 70 km in the mountains?! Then look!β The appetite grows with eating, and the ambition of athletes knows no bounds?
Take a look at a few screenshots that show the activities of ambitious athletes.
Training: Running 18km in 1h 3min, i.e. pace 3.30/km (as you can see, the activity is marked as suspicious, so even though it's not a scam, we check it anyway π)
Training: 155 km cycling
Training (running competition): 5km in time 15:46 pace 3.09/km (you can also add that this gentleman is 41 years old, so "age is just the number" π)
