The Activy App does not count steps, it only imports them from external, verified sources.
To have your steps appear in the Activy app, you need to synchronize one of the following applications:
- Apple Health - for iPhone users
- Google Fit - for Android phone users
Or if you have a sports watch:
- Polar Flow - check out this article
- Garmin Connect - check out this article
- Suunto - check out this article
Below you will find detailed instructions on how to connect Apple Health with Activy to transmit your steps.
What is Apple Health?
Apple Health is an app used for monitoring and managing health and physical activity on mobile devices with iOS. It is a platform that allows for the integration and analysis of data from various sources, such as step trackers, heart rate monitors, or calorie counters, to help users track their progress in physical activity and achieve their health goals.
Most iPhones already have Apple Health installed. If your device does not have this app, simply go to the App Store where you can download it for free.
How to synchronize Apple Health with Activy?
It's simple! Here are the step-by-step instructions.
- Open the Activy app and go to Settings -> Integrations -> Steps synchronization
- Select the Apple Health app
- Click the button labeled ‘Connect to Apple Health’
- On the screen, click the option ‘Turn On All’ and then ‘Allow’ in the top right corner
After completing the connection, the following screen should appear:
If you see this screen, Apple Health and Activy have been successfully connected!
Will Activy receive data from Apple Health in real-time?
Steps are transmitted to Activy every time you open the app. The app receives data from the last 3 days.
To ensure that your steps have been synchronized, click the refresh icon on the main screen. Remember to synchronize steps from watches regularly via Bluetooth connection with your phone.
When you open the Activy app, it synchronizes steps only from the last 3 days - the current day and the previous two days. Therefore, it is worth checking the challenge in the app regularly. If you haven't opened Activy for 4 days, the steps from the fourth day will not be transmitted. This allows for up-to-date tracking of rankings and prevents situations where users suddenly integrate steps from 30 days back.
Can I synchronize steps from sports bands or other sports watches?
Yes, you can use most available sports bands, sports watches, or smartwatches. These devices (e.g., Xiaomi band) should be connected to Apple Health. Meanwhile, owners of Garmin, Polar, or Suunto watches can connect them directly to Activy.
