The Activy app does not count steps on its own, it only imports them from external, verified sources.
To have steps appear in the Activy app, you need to synchronize one of the following apps:
- Google Fit - for Android phones
- Apple Health - for iPhones
Or if you have a sports watch:
- Polar Flow - check out this article
- Garmin Connect - check out this article
- Suunto - check out this article
Below, you will find detailed instructions on how to connect Google Fit with Activy to transfer steps.
What is Google Fit?
Google Fit is an app designed to monitor and manage health and physical activity on Android mobile devices. It is a platform that allows for the integration and analysis of data from various sources, such as step trackers, heart rate monitors, or calorie counters, to help users track their physical activity progress and achieve their health goals.
Most smartphones have Google Fit already installed on the device. If your device does not have this app, simply go to the Google Play Store, where you can download the app for free. After installation, just connect it to your Google account and enjoy the full range of functionalities.
How to synchronize Google Fit with Activy?
It's simple! Here is a step-by-step guide.
- Open the Activy app and go to Settings -> Integrations -> Steps synchronization
- Select the Google Fit app
- Click the button labeled ‘Sign In with Google’
- Then click ‘Allow’ and choose the correct Google account
- Click ‘Continue’ and ‘Allow’
After the connection is made, the following screen should appear:
If you see this screen, then Google Fit and Activy have been successfully connected!
Will Activy synch data from Google Fit in real-time?
Steps are transferred to Activy every time you open the app. The app receives data from the last 3 days.
To ensure that steps are synchronized, click the refresh icon on the main screen. Remember to regularly synchronize steps from your watch via Bluetooth connection to your phone.
When you open the Activy app, only steps from the last 3 days - the current day and the previous two days - are synchronized. Therefore, it is worth checking the challenge in the app regularly. If you have not opened Activy for 4 days, steps for the fourth day will not be transferred. This allows for real-time tracking of rankings and prevents situations where users suddenly integrate steps for the last 30 days.
Can I synchronize steps from fitness bands or other sports watches?
Yes, you can use most available fitness bands, sports watches, or smartwatches. Connect these devices (e.g., Xiaomi band) to Google Fit. Owners of Garmin, Polar, or Suunto watches can connect them directly to Activy.
